“Holy Thorn” by C P a p i l e painted on location in the year 2004, just 5 years before the Avalon Thorn tree was destroyed by anti-Christian vandals!  [Joseph of Arimathea tree planted in Avalon (Wiki ).]”  His painting of the Holy Thorn and the drawing studies were one of the last before this 1,960-year-old tree vanished. This type of Hawthorn tree blooms at Christmas and Easter and is therefore very special for Christianity. In the decade after Jesus Christ was resurrected it’s written (in the Middle Ages) that Saint Joseph of Arimathea was in Avalon. The tree arose from his Middle Eastern staff.
